As in Barrio de Analco and Avenida Juárez, the Ministry of the Environment, Sustainable Development and Territorial Planning (Smadsot) The state government closed the maneuvers to cut down palm trees that the Puebla City Council intended to carry out in areas surrounding the Children Heroes of Chapultepec School Center (CENHCH).
Through a statement, the agency said that the municipal government managed to shoot down 19 “tree individuals” that were located on 10 South and 11 East, from 10 South to 5 de Mayo Boulevard.
“After a tour made by personnel from the Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance, the agency verified that recently there was allegedly clandestine logging of 19 tree individuals.”
The Smadsot abounded that on Bulevar 5 de Mayo, from 23 to 11 Oriente, there was another pack of 170 trees “marked with letters, numbers and colors, presumably for the purpose of being cut down.”
The agency ruled that it will maintain coordination with the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) to execute “energetic strategies” “in the face of what appears to be a broad and concerted action to damage Puebla’s natural resources.”
