Skoda Motorsport has unveiled a brand new electric race car concept that has taken inspiration and technology from its Rally2 World Rally Championship car.
Based on the Enyaq road-going SUV, the new Enyaq RS Race has been in development since 2023 with the aim of creating an electric racing car concept that approaches the handling of the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.
The car is capable of generating 340 horsepower and a top speed of 180 km/h thanks to two electric motors combined with an 82 kWh battery, which were taken from the production car.
Inside, the car features a rally-specific survival cell, hydraulic handbrake and the pedal set was taken directly from the Rally2 car.
The biocomposite parts, which incorporate flax fibers in both the bodywork and interior, help reduce the weight of the car by 316 kg compared to the original road car.

According to the Czech manufacturer, “the project showcases Skoda’s activities in the field of electrified motorsport, driving progress towards a more sustainable future”.
“The Skoda Enyaq RS Race was developed entirely in-house by Skoda Motorsport. Based on the Enyaq Coupe RS series model, the car features a distinctive design with strong racing DNA, improved aerodynamics and excellent acceleration,” said Johannes Neft, Skoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development .
“In terms of sustainable solutions, the new concept car also serves as a pilot project for future innovations in series production. The biocomposite parts have led to a significant weight reduction and we are trialling them in motorsports, including the current Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, with a view to future implementation.”
In the car’s presentation video, Skoda rally driver Oliver Solberg, who drove the concept car, said: “I have to say that this new Enyaq RS race is a really exciting car to drive.”
“First of all it’s very fast and secondly, to go that fast this car is much more stable and feels lower, it’s not like driving an SUV, but it’s really nice and fun to drive. It’s much more agile and fun to ‘play’ with the car.”

“I think they’ve done a good job with the road car to give it a more rally feel.”
Although the Enyaq RS Race is currently a concept car, the project could indicate the automaker’s future direction in motorsports.
The FIA is currently working to finalize the new WRC regulations for 2027, with EV, hybrid and ICE powertrains under discussion.
