The brand Skoda officially presented the sedan Slavia, which will be sold in India as part of the renewed commitment in Asia. The car is based on the platform MQB-A0-IN, specially adapted for the Indian market. After launching the Kushaq SUV, a new Skoda car arrives locally which has the potential features, including safety, to bring the Indian car fleet closer to the European one.
Skoda Slavia, according to the House of the Czech Republic, has a localization level equal to 95% of any European product. Mount 115 horsepower three-cylinder 1.0 TSI engines, or a four-cylinder still from the same family, but 1.5-liter, 150 horsepower. Available as standard six-speed manual transmission, six-speed automatic transmission and seven-speed DSG (optional). The Stop / Start system is another standard feature.
The Slavia enters the premium range by right (the price has not yet been revealed) for the quality of components and safety devices available. Internally, it features a 10-inch screen for the infotainment system. Starting with the Ambition version, Climatronic touch-control with Air Care function is standard, while comfort features such as ventilated leather-covered front seats are available for the high-end Style specification.
Considering that cars are practically non-existent from a safety point of view in the Indian car market, the Slavia is certainly a breath of fresh air. The car is equipped with good active and passive safety features. The occupants are protected by up to six airbags, there are ISOFIX and Top Tether anchors on the rear seats. ESC is another standard feature along with Multi-Collision Brake which stops the vehicle safely in the event of an accident. Hill-Hold Control, rain and light sensors, cruise control, and tire pressure monitoring are available.
