The debut of Skoda Elroq you are approaching. This is confirmed by the fact that the Bohemian car manufacturer itself has released the first official images depicting the silhouette of the model: it is a fully electric compact SUV, as well as the first Skoda production model to adopt the company’s Modern Solid design language. To find out all the details relating to the new Skoda Elroq we will have to wait until next autumnwhen its world premiere was set: it will be one of the six electric models that the Bohemian brand is preparing to launch in the coming years.
Design is the key to everything
“For Skoda, design is one important part of identity of the brand and one of the main factors of our success – commented Oliver Stefani, head of Skoda automotive design – Continuously developing key visual elements is a challenging and exciting task. For this reason, my team and I are excited to preview the first Skoda model to incorporate the new Modern Solid design language, with elements like the Tech-Deck Face and a more rugged overall look. It’s also the first car in our range to feature Skoda lettering on the sharply contoured bonnet. Without a doubt, our brand new Elroq sets a new tone and is a real eye-catcher.”
The design of Skoda Elroq
Stefani mentioned the Tech Deck Face: This is a modern and recognizable reinterpretation of the traditional Skoda grille, with a flatter and wider appearance. But it’s not the only innovative design element brought as a gift by the new Elroq: the style of the split front headlights deserves a mention, the thinner upper section of the front that extends seamlessly onto the sides, the Skoda writing clearly visible on the bonnet, a set of large wheels which enhance the rugged look of the SUV and the Matrix LED headlights.
Interior and platform
The interior, however, will boast generous dimensions and exceptional practicality, in line with the brand’s commitment to improving features such as comfort and functionality. Finally, as regards the technical specifications, at the moment the details relating to the new Elroq are not yet known: we only know that it will be the third Skoda model based on the modular platform for electric cars MEB of the VW Group, after Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé.
