Almost all types of skin cancer (basalioma, spinalioma or melanoma) are linked to ultraviolet radiation from the sun or tanning beds. UV rays damage the DNA of skin cells and cause genetic mutations which, in the long run, can lead to the formation of a tumor. But there are other factors that can expose you to greater risks. Here they are explained by Piergiorgio Malagoli, head of the Dermatology Operating Unit of the San Donato Polyclinic in Milan.
