“This was my first long race with a tie. I’m very happy with the second place and being able to fight Astrid, ”Johaug said on the TV broadcast.

Slind won Vasaloppet, the most prestigious competition in the series earlier this season.

Johaug was a member of Team Ragde Charge, the most successful female skier of all time, in the race from Rena to Lillehammer Marit Bjørgenin with. Bjørgen finished fifth in the race with just over three minutes from the top.

The best Finn was ranked 18th Kati Roivas.

In the semi-open mountain landscape, the rules of the competition are that competitors carry a backpack weighing about three kilograms.
