Described as the “most immersive event of the ski season,” the Oittaan supersprint raced on a 100-meter-long piste.

The competition was attended by all kinds of sports fans, from MPs to national team skiers.

“Somewhere there was a ballet dress. I was a little jealous of that suit, ”Nissinen praised.

The ballerina outfit won the outfit competition. Dressed for it Leena Sulku was awarded to a national team skier Markus Vuorelan racing jerseys with autograph.

Leader of the competition Simo-Viljami Ojanen said he also wore leather pants or lederhosens from the track.

“The acceleration is so violent and terrible that there were a few crashes. Although it’s quite a slipper, when the track was salted, it’s quite rocky. Those who fell got a bit like an asphalt rash on their knees and elbows,” Ojanen said.

Even the fallen still bravely continued their journey and after the performance the limbs were repaired.
