Skiing Norwegian superstar Therese Johaug ends her career – takes a stand for Ukrainians fighting for their freedom

Three gold won the Beijing Olympics Therese Johaug will end his career after this period.

Johaug, 33, spoke on Friday.

“There are still a few races left this season. After that, it’s time to focus on things outside of sports instead of investing fully in cross-country skiing, ”said Johaug With their Instagram account.

Johaug also said other things seem irrelevant because of the war in Ukraine.

“My heart is with the Ukrainians fighting for their freedom,” Joihaug wrote.

Johaug’s career at the World Cup is coming to an end. This weekend, he will compete on his home runs at Holmenkollen and the World Cup finals will be in Falun, Sweden.

Johaug has dominated women ‘s skiing in recent years, especially after Norway’ s second skiing Marit Björgen ended his career.

Johaug has won all the regular trip medals in the previous two World Championships and this winter’s Olympics.

He has won a total of four Olympic golds and 14 World Cup golds in his career. Of the gold medals, 14 are personal.

In October 2016, Therese Johaug had to explain her doping cart.

Johaug has as many as 80 World Cup races and has won the overall race three times.

Johaug won his first personal prize race at Holmenkollen at the 2011 World Championships in 30 kilometers. On Saturday, he aims to make a profit on the same trip.

“It feels like the circle closes in many ways when I’m at the start line of the Holmenkollen 30km race on Saturday. I don’t want that race to end, but everything has time. ”

Johaug’s tremendous career is also overshadowed by the doping cart. In September 2016, he gave a doping sample that found a banned anabolic steroid called klostebol.

According to Johaug’s report, the banned substance came from a wound ointment called Trofodermin, which he had received from a doctor on the Norwegian ski team to treat chapped lips.

Johaug was banned from competing for 18 months and had to miss the Lahti World Championships 2017 and the Pyeongchang Olympics a year later.

After being released from the ban, Johaug has dominated the competition as he pleases.

Therese Johaug won three personal gold medals at the Beijing Olympics.
