Skiing Marit Bjørgen reveals in her biography that she has become a suspect in the use of doping at the Lahti World Championships 2017

Marit Bjørgen says she cried and felt bad after hearing about the suspicions.

Norwegian ski queen Marit Bjørgen reveals in his recent biography that he was suspected of doping at the Lahti World Championships in Skiing 2017.

WinnerThe Norwegian newspaper reported on the content of the book Verdens Gang (VG). Supplier Ingerid Stenvoldin a biography written by him was published on Monday.

The book describes Bjørgen’s feelings as a national team doctor Petter Olbergin during the call. The mere question of whether he was alone at home got into force badly.

During the call, Olberg said he had received information from the International Ski Federation (FIS) that a urine sample from Bjørgen’s 30-kilometer race contained signs of the use of prohibited substances, according to the doping laboratory.

“It felt like his nails had hit his stomach and turned it around. He panicked, ”writes Stenvold, a journalist at NRK, according to VG.

Bjørgen had, according to his biography, used a drug called Primolut-N to postpone menstruation. He had taken the preparation three pills a day.

The degradation product of the active substance in Primolut-N, norethisterone, or norethindrone, may show small amounts of the prohibited 19-nonandrosterone.

The fact that the drug separated from the sample after the longest distance was possibly due to dehydration. Then, according to the doctor, the concentration would be at its highest.

Olberg and Bjørgen provided the FIS with a thorough study of the use of the medicine. They spent three days on it and waited two weeks for a response.

The skier describes the waiting time as two weeks of hell.

“It was a turbulent time. I slept poorly and I felt sick. I was just waiting for the phone to ring, ”Bjørgen said.

Eventually the star skier received reassuring information. The FIS informed him that the report matched the results obtained in the laboratory and the case would have been closed.

However, the fear of doping had ruined some of the joy of sport. At the 2017 World Championships in Skiing, Bjørgen achieved three personal golds as well as a message gold.

“It was brutal to be in that situation, even though the team around me was trying to convince me that that couldn’t happen,” he says.

Bjørgen says he wondered what the magazine headlines would look like or what it would feel like to tell the issue at a press conference in the light of flashes.

In 2018, Bjørgen became the most successful Winter Sports Olympic athlete of all time with eight gold, four silver and three bronze medals. He has 18 gold, five silver and three bronze medals from the World Cup.
