Skiing Finland will not send skiers to Russia for World Cups

Ski Association announced on Thursday night that Finland will not send skiers to Russia for World Cup competitions. The decision concerns both the final competitions of the World Ski Cup in Tyumen and the Women’s World Jumping Cup in Nizhny Tagil and Tchaikovsky.

“We decided unanimously among the board that we will not send athletes to compete in Russia, given the gravity of the situation,” the chairman of the Ski Association Markku Haapasalmi said in a statement.

The races may be relocated due to Russia’s military action against Ukraine.
