The skies over Iran, Iraq and Israel were closed due to the bombing of the latter
The sky over three countries at once – Iran, Iraq and Israel – was closed due to the bombing of the latter. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
It is clarified that the incident affected air traffic throughout the region. The bombing also affected Russian airlines.
The Red Wings flight to Tel Aviv landed in Sharm el-Sheikh before being diverted back to Sochi. The flight from Moscow to Tel Aviv of the same airline was cancelled. The Sibir carrier plane (S7) took off from Moscow to Dubai, but was returned to the city of departure. Similar situations are observed with other airlines.
On the evening of October 1, Iran launched about 500 ballistic missiles at Israel. The attack was a response to the killing of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, as well as the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces in Lebanon.
A passenger on a flight to Dubai filmed a missile attack on Israel from the plane’s window during the flight. From the window you can see several salvoes flying one after another relatively close to the plane.
