Ski Jumping Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi also won the hill week in Garmisch – Kytösaho was eliminated from the second round

Kobayashi also won the opening race in Oberstdorf.

Japan Ryoyu Kobayashi won the second competition of Central European Hill Week in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Kobayashi, who jumped 143 and 135.5 meters, defeated the second-placed German on Garmisch Markus Eisenbichler 0.2 points.

Kobayashi, who leads the overall race for the hill week, also won the opening race in Oberstdorf. In Garmisch, the third was the Slovenian surprise Lovro Kos.

He was the only Finn to qualify for the competition Niko Kytösaho was 42nd in the opening round and dropped out. Jumping 121.5 meters, Kytösaho lost the playoffs to his Japanese pair Yukiya Sato nearly 25 points.

Second-placed Eisenbichler took second place after Kobayash in second place three points behind. The German put the longest jump of the day, 143.5 meters, into the Japanese tight. Kobayashi crossed 135.5 meters, but he pushed Eisenbichler lower than the starting stage, so the number of meters was enough for a narrow win.

In Oberstdorf, Norway ranked second after Kobayash Halvor Granerud only shared 22nd place after Garmisch’s opening round. He climbed wildly to eighth on his 140.5-meter flight in the second lap.

For Hill Week leader Kobayashi, number one was second in the World Cup this season. He has a total of 24 World Cup wins.

The hill week continues the day after tomorrow on the Austrian side in Innsbruck with a qualifying competition.
