Ski Jumping Janne Ahonen told Yle that he would take part in the Finnish Championships in hill jumping

“That’s how it got to happen now that registration has been put on hold,” Ahonen said.

Downhill jumping double world champion Janne Ahonen participates in this year’s Finnish Championships.

Ahonen, 44, confirmed the matter in Yle’s broadcast, in which he commented on the Garmisch-Partenkirchen race during the hill week.

“That’s how it got to happen now that registration has been put on hold. It can no longer be undone. The Finnish Championships will be there in a couple of weeks, ”Ahonen said.

SM-kisat are in Lahti on 14–16. January. Ilta-Sanomat said on New Year’s Evethat Ahonen has jumped from the big hill in Lahti and reached a jump of 127 meters.

Ahonen won World Cup gold in 1997 on the small hill of Trondheim and in 2005 on the large hill of Oberstdorf.

Ahonen last competed in the spring of 2018. According to Ilta-Sanomat, he has jumped six times since then.
