During this week, the Salesianos Urban Camp offers safe and healthy leisure activities to sixty teenagers from Cartagena. These are minors who are at risk of social exclusion, who are cared for by about thirty volunteers. The mayor, Noelia Arroyo, yesterday visited this Los Dolores school together with the mayor of Social Services, Mercedes García. The minors will be until next Saturday.
During these days, the kids participate in different workshops and games, as well as in the swimming pool to cool off from the high temperatures.
“They are young people who usually do not have the possibility of accessing these courses and, through Social Services, we select these minors so that they can enjoy these activities,” said Arroyo. Throughout the week, children receive breakfast, lunch and snacks and volunteers are tested for the coronavirus, to ensure the safety of all participants.
