One Nursing student from the University of Murcia and three Chemistry students are among the top ten in their respective tests
Six students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia are among the top one hundred marks in the MIR exam, according to the Dean of the Faculty, Carmen Robles, on Tuesday. Specifically, a UMU graduate has been ranked number 13, and another five are in the ‘top one hundred’.
But the good results extend to the faculties of Nursing and Chemistry of the UMU. Ana María Toledo Belmonte, who was the end-of-degree award, has obtained the sixth best grade in the EIR exam (resident nurse intern), according to ‘Medical Writing’. In addition, three students have been among the top ten students classified in the QIR tests, the equivalent of the MIR for Chemistry and Biochemistry graduates.
The Ministry of Health published this Tuesday the provisional list of notes. The exams were held on the 29th. In the Region of Murcia, 1,400 applicants took part. At stake are 10,634 places in the National Health System, 3.8% more than last year. However, this increase is not transferred to the Region of Murcia, where the offer decreases slightly, with three places less: from the 367 of the previous call, it goes to 364.
83 of these positions are reserved for Resident Nurse Interns (EIR), with a cut of two positions in Mental Health Nursing. Meanwhile, there are 262 internal resident doctor (MIR) positions, just one more than in 2021 despite the lack of professionals in the Region.
