The Spokesman explained that the meeting dealt with a review of aspects of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the United States, in several areas, especially in the field of how to confront the repercussions of the global conditions related to the food crisis and the disruption of energy supplies. A number of regional files and issues were also discussed during the meeting. Al-Sisi affirmed the firm Egyptian position based on the need to strengthen the pillars of countries in crises and strengthen their national institutions, in order to end the suffering of their people and preserve their capabilities.

The developments of the Renaissance Dam issue were also discussed, as the President stressed Egypt’s firm position on the need to reach a binding legal agreement for the process of filling and operating the dam, in a manner that preserves Egyptian water security and achieves the common interests of the three countries.
