The fans of The Simpsons They are in suspense: this Sunday a mystery that has persisted since the beginning of the series’ broadcast, back in 1990, will be solved. And one of its creators has announced it.
Writer and executive producer Al Jean took to his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing: “This Sunday a new (episode of) @TheSimpsons will solve a mystery that has baffled me (at least to me) since the beginning of the series…”
The tweet shows an image of a male character (who appears to be Grandpa Simpson as a young man) and a female character standing by the sea and holding glasses of slush. This is the only clue to the mystery.
It didn’t take long for fans of the series to launch all kinds of theories to find out what Al Jean means by his cryptic tweet.
“What happened to Mindy Simmons?” one wonders. “Maybe they’ll finally say which Springfield they’re in…” predicts another. “Do we know what happened to Agnes Skinner to make her so angry?” another ventures to ask, who believes he identifies Principal Skinner’s mother, as a young man, in the woman in the image shared by Jean.
Later, Al Jean denied some of the theories: “It’s not Seymour (Skinner). It’s another enigma”wrote. The solution, on Sunday.
