Two years have passed since the announcement of Silent Hill: Townfall and for the moment we have received very little information on the spin-off of the horror series created by No Code Studios, currently in almost total radar silence. Updates on the status of the work are so rare that some players fear that the project has been canceled or put on hold, also due to the difficult situation it is experiencing Annapurna Interactive after the publisher’s entire staff resigned en masse.
Fortunately, a few hours ago some reassurances arrived in this sense thanks to a joint message from Annapurna Interactive and the developers of No Code Studios which confirmed that the game he is still alive and well and that the work is continuing in collaboration with Konami.
The message from Annapurna Interactive
“We deeply apologize for any concerns regarding SILENT HILL: Townfall,” reads the message from Annapurna Interactive. “Silent Hill: Townfall will continue to be co-developed by Konami, Annapurna Interactive and No Code.”
Silent Hill: Townfall was announced in October 2022, with a teaser trailer that says little about the nature of the game. Jon McKellan, the creative director of No Code, revealed that it will be a title that will respect the original material but that at the same time “it will have something different”. Since then, no noteworthy news has arrived, other than messages from the studio at the end of last year which assured that Townfall is still in development, with the possibility of news during 2024. At this point all that remains is to wait for news from No Code, Konami and Annapurna Interactive, with the hope that the wait won’t be too long.
