In a completely unexpected move, Konami has just announced a strategic alliance with Bloober Team for the creation of new games within their sagas. Doesn’t his name ring a bell? Well know that they are the creators of The Medium, the horror game with Akira Yamaoka that was inspired by Silent Hill. And, in addition, several rumors in February suggested that Bloober would be working on a new Silent Hill with Konami. Something that now gains greater force, with the announcement of this alliance.
Konami and Bloober Team will collaborate on new and existing IPIt should be reiterated that this is a strategic alliance between the Polish studio and the Japanese publisher: Bloober Team has not been acquired and remains independent. And, thanks to the agreement, Konami and Bloober will collaborate in the creation of new games within “new and existing IP”, affirms the Japanese company. In other words, they will create games from both established sagas and new sagas that may be born from this alliance.
Konami seeks more development deals
This movement comes after a generation where Konami has been accused of ignoring developments on the console. Now, the company affirms that its alliance with Bloober Team “comes to promote one of our areas in continuous evolution and promote game development. We will continue to explore possible new agreements with various development companies, and fostering internal development of key projects among our own teams. ”So it appears that Konami is considering collaborating with more external studios going forward.
