It must be said that in recent months a series of very interesting indie titles have been revealed, one of which is definitely Sifu. The game, in development by the creators of Absolver, is an elegant homage to kung fu movies, in which we will take on the role of a person seeking revenge (and clearly an expert in martial arts).
The title received a new trailer during the State of Play a few hours ago, which shows us a bunch of deadly brawls with a lot of crowds in what looks like a kind of Fight Club. There we are explained one of the main mechanics of the game by the developer SloClap, who used the official PlayStation blog : As the new trailer basically shows, dying in-game will age us. After each “death” in the game, we will start over with an older age.
However, that aging is not indefinite: eventually, once we reach a certain age, if we die we will have to start over. It is unclear if this means having to start from the beginning of the game similar to other roguelikes, or if there are section breaks. The delay in the game was instead also due to COVID, which is now not surprising.
Sifu will be released in early 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. What do you think? Tell us on our Facebook group!
