Yesterday evening, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to Washington, DC, to hold a strategic dialogue between the two countries.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement that the strategic dialogue between Cairo and Washington “will include addressing all aspects of bilateral cooperation relations and areas of work aimed at strengthening them during the coming period in light of the strong and complex relations between the two friendly countries.” It also deals with “discussing the most prominent regional and international issues of mutual interest.” This is within the framework of continuing consultations with the American side regarding the most prominent files of joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries during the coming period.
Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, stated that Minister Shoukry is scheduled to meet, during his stay in Washington, with his American counterpart.
Anthony Blinken and a number of US administration officials, he will also communicate with a group of members of the House and Senate, in addition to holding meetings with the most prominent think tanks.
