The Uzbek striker, now a former rossoblù, has signed with the Giallorossi club who buys him outright for 17.5 million plus 2.5 bonuses
Eldor Shomurodov is officially a Roma player: the Uzbek’s adventure with Genoa ends after a season, 32 total appearances and 8 goals. The striker born in 1995 yesterday joined his new teammates in retirement in Portugal and today he signed the contract until June 30, 2026. Shomurodov goes to the Giallorossi on a permanent basis for a sum equal to 17.5 million euros. “The agreement – reads the Rome press release – provides for the recognition of variable bonuses (2.5 million ed.) As well as the recognition of a percentage on any surplus in the event of a future definitive sale of the player”.
On the official website of Roma, Shomurodov made his first statements as a Giallorossi striker: “Roma represents a huge step forward in my career: I will do everything to prove that I deserve this shirt and establish myself in one of the most important clubs in the world. The speed with which the negotiation was concluded testifies to my desire to immediately put myself at the disposal of the coach and his teammates ”.
“Eldor is a striker with great room for growth and is hungry to establish himself with the Roma shirt in a football he already knows: his motivations are combined with characteristics that go well with the game of our coach, so we are happy to be able to greet his arrival in the Club ”, the words of the director general of the sporting area of Rome, Tiago Pinto.
Shomurodov will wear the number 14 jersey, recently vacated by Gonzalo Villar, who moved to number 8.
