Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in Yerevan as part of an interdepartmental delegation, reports RIA News with reference to the press secretary of the head of the government of the republic Mane Gevorgyan.
According to her, Shoigu is already holding a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Also on Saturday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Novak and Alexei Overchuk are expected to arrive in Yerevan.
Earlier it became known that Russian border guards would deploy additional forces on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Let us remind you that on November 9, Armenia and Azerbaijan, through the mediation of the Russian Federation, concluded an agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the agreements, the opposing sides remain in their positions, and Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region.
