Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu arrived in Myanmar on an official visit, the press service of the military department reported.
It is noted that the Russian minister will hold talks with the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Myanmar, senior general Min Aung Hline. The parties will discuss military and military-technical cooperation between the two states, as well as the situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
Earlier, Shoigu spoke about the tasks of the Russian Ministry of Defense for 2021. The Minister of Defense emphasized the importance of maintaining the pace of re-equipment of the army and navy, as well as strengthening the potential of high-precision weapons and timely fulfilling the tasks of the state defense order.
At the end of December, Shoigu said at a conference call that the Russian Armed Forces had completed all the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief for 2020.
