Peter Doyle, aged 66, turned up at Carlow Post Office, Ireland, to withdraw the money from his pension on January 21. He was accompanied by his nephew, Declan Haughney.
However, the office staff noticed that something was wrong: Mr. Doyle was not walking on his own or showing any signs of life. Was dead.
His body had collapsed. Therefore, they contacted the Police to carry out the survey and clarify the causes of his death.

Why did he arrive dead?
The authorities, according to local media reports, established that Doyle died of natural causes three hours before reporting to the post office. Although his nephew, supposedly, did not find out, but he did take him to receive the pension.
“Why would I want to steal from my uncle? I am 40 years old, yes, I am not a child, I am not a young boy. I’m not an idiot to walk in with a dead man and collect his money,” Haughney said in a conversation with the Irish Mirror newspaper.
The corpse of the man, named locally as Peadar Doyle, was taken to Hosey’s shop in County Carlow by two men

Why would I try to steal my uncle’s money when I live in the house with him and we share accounts?
In fact, neighbors have accused Haughney of knowing that he was dead to, according to them, appropriate the money. They say it because of his background: he spent two years in the jail due to drug problems and was accused of stealing from another of his relatives.
“People in the city know that, but it was 15 years ago. I’m fine now,” he said.
The man assured that his uncle was alive. Therefore, he decided to leave the house and take it with the help of one of his friends, since the office was only a few streets away.
“He was walking normally and then I think he died. We were holding him and when we got to the line, we left him, but he fell. It just collapsed,” he said.

Haughney insisted that he is not an “imbecile” or a “murderer” as some media outlets and onlookers have pointed out. In addition, he revealed that he has been the victim of aggression.

The last good-bye
Mr. Doyle’s funeral took place two days after his death. His nephew was even photographed carrying the coffin in the church and the graveyard.
“It was a very dignified funeral. The family is absolutely devastated, ”revealed father Tom Little, who was in charge of performing the religious ceremony, to the newspaper ‘The Sun’.
The relatives did not leave the astonishment by what happened and remembered him as a kind and kind man. Another of his nieces described him as a hero.
“If I was going to cry, I would run to where he was and, within minutes, he had me dancing around the kitchen,” Charmaine Dowling said.

We want to know when exactly he died
Doyle is known to have worked in various trades: he was a waiter, a painter and a childminder. In recent years he rested at home and received the pension.
He died of natural causes, so any violent death or murder was ruled out. Of course, the authorities investigate what his living conditions were to eventually establish the responsibility that his nephew had in the care.

“We want to know when exactly he died, if he was in poor health before his death and what kind of care he received in the hours or days before,” Police Superintendent Aidan Brennan told KCLR Live.
Doyle’s four sisters have remained silent. In fact, the family has chosen to avoid the media due to the ridicule and accusations that have been around in social networks.
