Visiting Nuevo León for the first time as virtual president-elect, of “step and run”, Claudia Sheinbaum, was received this morning by hundreds of supporters and even with a batucada.
At 7:00 a.m., Terminal B of the Monterrey International Airport received Morena supporters who came to see Sheinbaum on his express visit.
With banners, batons, and flags, the Morenistas received the President-elect. There were so many people who came to the reception that the Airport came to a standstill in this terminal, generating long lines to enter and exit.
Between pushes, blows and screams, Sheinbaum made his way. “I never imagined this response,” he said.
No one had a chance to talk to her for more than 20 seconds.
Among the dozens of questions that the press asked her, the virtual President-elect said that she did not agree with the challenges, that she will come to Nuevo León soon, among other comments.
At times he was even on the verge of falling to the ground. “Let the President pass!” shouted one of his collaborators.
For his arrival there was no special security operation or the National Guard, nor the Assistant to the Presidential General Staff.
The arrival protocol implemented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador since the beginning of his administration was maintained.
Due to a lack of organization, the main door of the Terminal had to be uninstalled.
The welcoming committee was headed by Waldo Fernández, Senator-elect, and his running mate Judith Díaz.
Clara Luz Flores and Paulina Flores, former candidate for Mayor of San Pedro, among others, also attended.
The atmosphere led those attending the reception to cheer on the travelers on a flight from Querétaro who left amid shouts and compliments.
Airport administrators asked visitors to make way.
After arriving on flight AMX 900 at 7:57 a.m., Sheinbaum got into a van and headed to Coahuila.
The first tour with AMLO
The virtual President-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, traveled to the north of the country this morning to carry out her first joint tour with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Accompanied by her closest team, Sheinbaum flew – by commercial plane – from Mexico City International Airport to Monterrey, and then traveled by land to Coahuila. Before approaching her, she took selfies and talked with some of her supporters, who told her things like “hopefully” and “we love you very much.”
According to the official agenda of the Presidency, the Morenista will participate at 12:45 p.m. in a meeting of the President with relatives of the victims of the Pasta de Conchos mine, in Sabinas.
This will be the first public event in which Sheinbaum coincides with López Obrador, after having won the elections on June 2.
During the weekend, both will have other activities in Coahuila and Durango, mainly construction supervision.
On Sunday they will have another public event, at a venue yet to be defined, to review the progress of the federal program called Healthy Water for the Lagoon.
In a brief interview at the AICM, the virtual President-elect indicated that she is forming her work team and fine-tuning her “24-30” program, for example, regarding security and water.
