In Baja California Sur, the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the Let’s Keep Making History coalition, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that it will be in the city of Los Cabos where the National Housing Program will beginas part of the continuity efforts of the Fourth Transformation.
Sheinbaum reported that the project contemplates the construction of one million homes in the next six yearswith the aim of addressing the large gap between the area’s luxury hotels and the region’s homeless.
“Here in particular in Los Cabos, our housing project, which is one million homes, in the next six years. We are going to start the project in Los Cabos; “It’s painful to see the big difference between big hotels that cost hundreds of dollars a night and at the same time people who don’t have housing,” he said.
In addition to the National Housing Program, another of the major projects for Baja California Sur is to guarantee access to drinking water, especially in the face of the prolonged drought that has affected the country.
Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted that a National Water Plan which will include the modernization of the field, the review of the National Water Law and the responsible use of water resources.
In this sense, the construction of a dam in La Paz was announced to capture rainwater and make it drinkable for use in the region. Sheinbaum also highlighted the importance of connectivity throughout the country, announcing highway projects such as the expansion of the highway from La Paz to Tijuana.
The candidate of Morena and her allies also addressed security issues, pointing out that they will seek to classify extortion as a serious crime and the conditions will be generated to investigate this type of crimes ex officio.
Sheinbaum was accompanied by several candidates from the coalition, who supported the projects presented and highlighted the importance of the continuity of the Fourth Transformation in the state of Baja California Sur.
