The Keniana Sharon Loedi and her compatriot John Korir conquered on Monday the 129th edition of the Boston Marathon, the oldest in the world.
Lokedi, winner of the New York Marathon in 2022, was second last year in Boston behind the also Keniana Hellen Obiri.
But on this occasion, Lokedi not only took revenge on Obiri, who was looking for the triplet after having won Boston in 2023 and 2024, but also destroyed the record of this legendary test with a time of 2h17: 22, more than two and a half minutes less with respect to the brand established by the Ethiopian Buzunesh owes in 2014 (2h19: 59).
For his part, Korir, who won in Chicago in 2024, was proclaimed champion in the male category with a time of 2h04: 45 and joined his brother Wesley Korir in the Palmarés, who also triumphed here but in the 2012 edition. This is also the first couple of brothers who wins in Boston.
