The Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club won 7 medals in the Qatar International Taekwondo Championship, with two gold medals for Saud Omar and Maryam Jassim, two silver medals for Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Zawain and Omar Louay, and three bronze medals for Saeed Salem, Ahmed Bashir, and Yahya Omar.
The delegation included Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, Director of the Sports Training Department, Dr. Ali Alawi, Technical Director, and Muhammad Bahari, Trainer.
Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, praised the great support of the Sharjah Sports Council, which paved the way for raising the technical level, leading to winning medals, and the efforts of the Sports Training Department, praising the role of the players and the technical and administrative staff, and the support and cooperation of the players’ families.
Abdulaziz Al Hammadi stressed the players’ keenness to achieve the goal set for participation, by representing the country to the best of its ability in external forums.
The delegation received a warm reception upon return via Sharjah International Airport, in the presence of the families of the successful players and engineer Hanadi Khalifa, the club’s executive director.
