Director of the Conservation Department, Engineer Ghada Juma Salem, explained that the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority seeks to promote the values of social responsibility, protect the environment, preserve natural resources and ensure their sustainability by spreading awareness and taking the necessary measures to reduce water wastage and address leaks.
She stressed that the authority provides all necessary support to government agencies in Sharjah by providing technical support and awareness programs necessary for them to assess their conditions and take measures to rationalize energy and water consumption in all its buildings. .
She added that the Conservation Department provides its services to government agencies through three phases. The first phase includes evaluating the energy and water consumption conditions in the buildings affiliated with government agencies and the requirements for rationalization, by preparing a statement of the needs of these agencies for energy-saving lighting lamps, lighting sensors, water consumption rationalization parts, and setting the degree of rationalization. Air-conditioning at 22 to 24 degrees, following up on the amounts of electricity and water consumption in all buildings belonging to these authorities, and making sure that energy is not wasted and that there are no water leaks. And work to spread the culture of rationalization among the employees of government agencies.
The third stage includes the technical committee of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority to carry out field visits to government buildings, evaluate the procedures that have been implemented, and compare consumption quantities before and after the implementation of rationalization procedures to identify the results that have been achieved..
