His Excellency Val Ramkalawn, President of the Republic of Seychelles, announced an agreement with Emirates Airlines to operate a second daily flight to his country, considering this as evidence of the great confidence it enjoys. This came during the press conference held by the President and Val Ramkallaon at the Media Center of “Expo 2020 Dubai”. A flight between Dubai and Seychelles takes less than four and a half hours. His Excellency Sylvester Radigond, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of East African Seychelles, said the agreement would help provide greater flexibility for those wishing to visit Seychelles. He added, “The current flight is night, and I think that the new flight will be daytime, and this will give more flexibility to our visitors, and help them to overcome the time difference.” “We are very happy with this, as this market in this very important region is very important to us,” he said.
Radigund emphasized that Seychelles is a country open to all visitors from almost all countries except for some countries from which Seychelles still places restrictions on entry. “The door is open for everyone to visit Seychelles without restrictions, whether those who have received corona vaccines or those who have not,” he said. He added, “We do not have a quarantine. All that is required is the result of the PCR examination 72 hours before arrival, so that you can enter and enjoy spending wonderful times on 115 islands.” Radigund pointed out that the visitor does not need to obtain an entry visa to come to Seychelles, all he has to do is book a flight ticket, come to the country and spend up to a year, and enjoy the holiday, adding that his country also provides the opportunity for those wishing to work from its lands. Last year, despite the global health pandemic, more than 114,000 people visited Seychelles. Radigund hopes that a number approaching 120,000 will visit it this year, and he confirms that plans in his country aim to attract about 300,000 visitors next year.
