Sevilla wins a derby that had some controversy but ended with a fair score based on strictly football.
The first minutes of the meeting were a monologue from Sevilla that was able to get ahead on the scoreboard on multiple occasions. After trying so hard, they ended up receiving more than just a prize in the form of Rakitic’s goal from eleven meters.
Around minute twenty, an unfortunate action took place involving Papu, Acuña and Fekir. Papu Gómez went to the ground injured while his team handled the ball. Sevilla ended up losing the ball and tried to get the Betis to throw it out. Real Betis, obviously, decided to continue with the leather since Sevilla did not send it to the band when they had the chance. Given the passivity of the Verdiblanco players, Acuña decided to take justice into his own hands and delivered a tremendous kick to Fekir that left the Frenchman injured and the Argentine with a more than insufficient yellow card.
The second goal for the Seville team came through Munir’s boots. A goal in which Bravo could do much more. That target practically sentenced the match in a first half dominated from start to finish by Sevilla.
The second part was the opposite. Betis took the reins of the match and had Álex Moreno approaching on the scoreboard. Canales’ goal came in minute 93 after a masterfully thrown free kick.
