A total of 405 farmers and ranchers in the Region of Murcia will benefit from aid for a total amount of 7,090,960 euros, which will allow them to undertake modernization investments in their farms within the framework of the rural development program of the Region de Murcia 2014-2020, as published by the BORM a few days ago.
As explained by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Antonio Luengo, to representatives of the main agricultural organizations, including Fecoam, the municipalities with the largest number of beneficiaries are Mula, Lorca, Cehegín, Jumilla and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The funds will be used for actions such as the installation of photovoltaic panels, the replacement of more modern and efficient machinery, the construction of agricultural and livestock buildings, deposits for collecting rainwater or the commitment to planting varieties more resistant to the effect of pests, as explained by the Ministry.
Rural development
In addition, from the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Environment and Emergencies, in collaboration with the Campoder Local Action Group for rural development, they recently announced that LEADER aid has already been called. On this occasion, they have a total budget of 1,675,197 euros, to which are added another 1,055,197 euros for the Local Action Group Association for the regional development of the Northeast of the Region of Murcia.
As explained by the regional government, participatory local development through LEADER consists of “ceding the planning initiative to local communities which, organized in public-private associations such as Local Action Groups, prepare and execute a Participatory Local Development Strategy for a given territory taking advantage of its resources.
“This bottom-up approach implies a greater involvement of the population in solving the common problems that affect them and a greater commitment in the actions they project, which translates into an increase in local governance”, they emphasize from the CARM.
With this initiative, “the Campoder and Nordeste Local Action Groups have managed to involve the local community in the development of their rural territory for the implementation of actions and investments for revitalization and social and economic development”, highlight those responsible.
According to the published call, these aids, contemplated in the Rural Development Plan for the 2023-2025 annuities, are intended to support the execution of projects that, without being defined, are in accordance with the priorities and needs of the rural area included in the municipalities of its territorial scope. Non-programmed projects can be proposed and executed by both public and private promoters. In all cases, the selection of these projects requires a competitive call.
“Two types of projects can be requested; the productive ones, whose objective is the production of goods or services that can be commercialized or that increase the income of the promoters or increase the value of the properties, and the non-productive ones, consisting of expenses or investments in public goods or services that do not have as an objective the commercialization of goods or services to obtain income or that cannot be sold and those provided by public entities in the exercise of their own functions.
According to the bases, companies, associations and other groups, as well as public entities, may apply for these aids within the periods established in their respective calls and the requests from the Campoder territory can be completed and submitted through the CREA-Campoder application, available on the website www.campoder.es and they will be presented ‘online’, through the electronic headquarters of Campoder, which can be accessed from the aforementioned website or directly at campoder.sedelectronica.es, or in person at the headquarters of the Campoder Rural Development Association, located at Calle José Balsalobre, 9, in Lobosillo (Murcia), in the standardized model.
Applications from the Northeast territory will be completed through the Northeast Local Action Group on its website www.adcnordeste.es, where the guide for submitting applications can be consulted. The application provides the help request, the description and the statements. Once the validation process is complete, all the information and documents are uploaded for on-site presentation.
This aid will be co-financed by the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) by 63 percent and by the Community, through the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Environment and Emergencies, in the remaining 37 percent, and managed by the Directorate General for Common Agricultural Policy.
