The head of the Servant of the People party of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, David Arakhamia, said that the faction plans to expel deputy Oleksandr Trukhin from its ranks because he attempted to hide an accident in the summer of 2021, reports RIA News.
“Me and my colleagues are ashamed of the behavior of Alexander Trukhin. This is definitely not what we went to the polls with and what the people who voted for us expect from us. I believe that Alexander Trukhin has no place either in the faction or in the Servant of the People party, ”Arakhamia said in a statement cited by the party’s press secretary, Yulia Paliychuk.
He urged the deputy to leave the party on his own, since otherwise he will be expelled by a decision that will be made after the quorum vote. In addition, Arakhamia advised Trukhin to provide full cooperation to the investigation in the case of the accident.
Earlier it became known that Vladimir Zelensky intends to significantly reduce the number of deputies – from 450 to 300. He prepared a bill to reduce the Verkhovna Rada. If the innovations are adopted, changes will be made to the Constitution of Ukraine.
