Serbia announced the victory of the ruling party coalition in municipal elections
The Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia Tomorrow coalition won elections in 85 of the country’s 89 municipalities. This was stated by the Chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party, Prime Minister of the country Milos Vucevic, his words are quoted by RIA News.
The Progressives won a majority of votes in every city and municipality except four: Tutin, Backa Topola, Senta and Kanizsa.
In these areas, this is explained by the characteristics of the population that influence the political picture, Vucevic explained.
Elections in Serbia’s 89 municipalities, including the capital Belgrade, took place on June 2. The Central Election Commission will announce the preliminary results on June 3 no later than 20:00.
Earlier, Vucevic said that the country’s new government intends to maintain contact with Russia to the same extent. “Friendship is shown and proven in difficult times, and if today we are unable to help our Russian friends in a practical sense, then we will certainly not hinder them in any way,” he said.
