Microsoft would be in full turmoil these days and there would be several issues on the management’s plate, such as the possibility of convert Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II For PS5at least according to what journalist Tom Warren reported in a long report published on The Vergein which the topic was touched upon only tangentially.
The chances of this happening are unknown, but the brand’s new multiplatform policy is now well known, so it wouldn’t surprise anyone. Above all, it seems that the timing is at issue, at least according to what little Warren said about it.
Senua returns to PlayStation
The first installment of the Ninja Theory series, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, was initially a PS4 exclusive. It was launched in 2017 with some fanfare, finding favor with the public and critics for the world with which it represented the psychic state of the protagonist. The development studio was subsequently acquired by Microsoft, which financed work on the sequel. After years of waiting, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be released on May 21st and will be playable on PC and Xbox Series X/S, as well as on all devices that support xCloud.
Over the past year, Xbox has ramped up its multiplatform strategy, launching some of its best-known games on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The latest arrival, Sea of Thieves, turned out to be a great success on the Xbox Series push even more on the new policy.
Of course, in such a moment, the internal discussion at Microsoft reported by Warren only worsens the public’s perception of Xbox, already compromised, at least in the short term, by the announcement of the closure of several development studios, in particular Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin. However, the issues on the table are different, including the role of Game Pass and its future expansion.
