Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 it will not be dubbed in languages other than English, for one thing artistic choice of the development team. The subtitles will instead be translated into more than twenty different languages. The explanation was given by David Garcia Diaz of Ninja Theory in an interview granted to NerdBunker, in which it was explained that, as happened with the predecessor, dubbing the game would have been difficult due to the binaural audio, which is a fundamental to the experience.
According to Garcia, if Ninja Theory decides to dub Hellblade into other languages, it should do so under his supervision in a Cambridge studio, so as to have the best possible result. Interesting that Melina Juergensthe actress who plays the protagonist Senua, proposed herself for dubbing in Brazil, a country with which she has a strong bond: “My pronunciation is quite good and, with a little help, I could handle it.”
The speech made by the developers is not at all forced, considering that the first Hellblade was not dubbed for the same reason. The solution chosen for the audio, in fact, makes it really complicated to dub all the voices and harmonize them in the same way. Basically, entire aspects of the soundtrack should be revised.
A long and difficult job
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 appears very determined from the point of view of the choices made by the developers, among others framerate fixed at 30fps and now this dubbing decision. After all, it is a title with specific ambitions, so it is normal that the choices during the development phase took this into account.
