Senegal | The Constitutional Council confirmed the historic election result

In West African In Senegal, the country's Constitutional Council has confirmed that the 44-year-old represents the opposition Bassirou Diomaye Fayen electoral victory in the country's presidential elections, which took place last weekend.

According to the council, Faye received 54.28 percent of the vote in the first round, and her primary rival, the incumbent's party-backed former prime minister Amadou Ba 35.79 percent. According to the Council, no objections have been raised to the result. Faye is due to be sworn in as president next Tuesday in the town of Diamniadio. He will become the country's youngest president.
