BRASILIA (Reuters) – The Senate on Wednesday approved a provisional measure that changes rules for calculating road freight and reduces the percentage of change in the price of diesel oil that serves as a trigger for reviewing the values of the truck drivers’ freight table. .
The MP, which follows the enactment, determines that the readjustment of the minimum freight floor table will occur whenever the value of S-10 diesel varies by 5% in relation to the value of the current table, compared to a variation of 10% of the current rule .
The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) already reviews the freight floors every six months, but the legislation also provided for changes in the table due to exceptional variations of 10%, the so-called diesel trigger, which now passes to 5%.
Petrobras has promoted frequent readjustments in fuel prices charged at refineries, taking into account the price of a barrel of oil on the foreign market.
The rise in fuel prices has put pressure on inflation in recent months, with an impact on food prices.
The MP had already been approved by the Chamber the day before and, as it has not been altered during its course in Congress, it is still being promulgated.
