The unit’s toxicologists work on the diagnosis and clinical management of poisonings and disorders caused by toxins or chemicals that have a negative impact on people. This includes management and follow-up care of patients exposed to pesticides, pests, fuels, chemicals, plant poisoning, snakebites, scorpions and insect stings.
Dr. Anwar Salam, Executive Director of Medical Affairs at SEHA, said that poisoning is a global phenomenon that causes major health problems, and SEHA aims to establish a specialized toxicology unit that relies on a proven and tailored approach to suit the needs of each patient, and will ensure the new toxicology unit in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City To provide the best possible care for patients suffering from or suspected cases of poisoning, or problems related to toxins and chemicals, as “SEHA” is keen to provide world-class health care.
