Sega of America announced the opening of a new headquarters in Irvine, Inc Californiawhere the offices of Atlus and Sega itself will find space, in an effort to enhance the support of the Japanese publisher’s brands, first of all Sonic.
Shuji Utsumi, the CEO of Sega, said the opening of a new headquarters of Sega of America in Irvine represents a new era for one of the most respected brands in the world of video games. He added that, “This new space will help foster and strengthen a culture of teamwork and creativity that can create new stories and worlds to entertain players for generations.”
One of targets of the Irvine location will be to facilitate streaming media opportunities for the North American team.
In short, Sega wants to capitalize on the excellent results of its brands, such as the million copies sold by Persona 5 Royal multiplatform.
Sega recently launched Sonic Frontiers, which received a mixed reception, but nonetheless seems to have done some good numbers globally, moreover finding a large community willing to support it.
