At the beginning of August we shed a few tears for the closing of the SEGA Ikebukuro GiGO, one of the most iconic arcades of the whole neighborhood and one of the most popular destinations for players, but already on that precise occasion the company promised to return… somehow.
Well, the residents of Ikebukuro have recently learned that a new game room of SAW will open exactly in front of the old now closed, all confirmed by the official Twitter account:
IKEBUKURO PROJECT VOL.1
\ ✨2021.10.22. START✨ /# セ ガ 池袋 pic.twitter.com/e2LOSWAyyQ– セ ガ 池袋 GiGO (@SEGA_ikebukuro) October 16, 2021
This new arcade promises to open its doors, and once again offer refuge to all fans from this October 22, and will count 4 floors:
- Underground floor – Videogame
- Floors 1 to 3 – UFO Catcher
- Floor 4 – Ichiban Kuji and Ichiban Cafe
The Tweet also carries the phrase “IKEBUKURO PROJECT VOL. 1“, Almost suggesting that something more is boiling in the pot.
Unfortunately, at the moment tourism trips to Japan are not yet allowed, so those who have a Japanese residence will certainly participate in the opening. But even if we can’t visit it firsthand, we still can’t wait to be able to admire photos and videos so that we can take a general tour from a distance!
