Security British newspaper: Chinese hackers hit at least 13 operators since 2019

According to security team Crowdstrike, attacks on telecom operators have taken place around the world in two years.

Chinese hackers have hit at least thirteen telecom operators around the world since 2019, says the British newspaper The Guardian, citing information from the Crowdstrike group, which specializes in information security.

According to the magazine, a hacker group called Lightbasin was able to track individual cell phones and obtain subscriber information from telecom operators as well as information about calls made and received.

Crowdstrike believes the Lightbasin group has been funded by the Chinese state. According to the Guardian, this is the first time a Chinese state-funded group has been linked to signal intelligence.
