VKontakte users will be able to learn Russian sign language using a chatbot
VKontakte launched inclusive initiatives for the Day of Sign Languages and the Day of the Deaf. With the help of a special chatbot, users of the social network will be able to learn the basics of Russian sign language, as well as learn about proper communication with deaf and hard of hearing people through a series of videos, according to a VKontakte press release obtained by Lenta.ru.
The chatbot of the VKontakte Charity community will give you the opportunity to learn basic phrases in sign language. The leading speaker in the series of videos was Katerina Kononenko, a translator from Russian sign language. Thus, network users will learn how to offer their help and chat about everyday topics. Training will be available until October 17.
“Projects like this help to find a common language – and this qualitatively improves the lives of everyone in society. More people will be able to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing in everyday situations: say thank you to a taxi driver, help a passerby on the street,” summed up Ekaterina Kochneva, head of the VKontakte Charity department.
Previously, VK developed a service for transferring mail from Gmail. Now, to save data, users are asked to transfer letters from Gmail mailboxes to Xmail.ru.
