The Colombian-American driver Sebastián Montoya, from the Telmex Claro team, will seek to enter this weekend among the top three positions of the two Imola Grand Prix raceson the second day of the European Regional Formula, which will be run at the legendary Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack.
The young man, son of Juan Pablo Montoya, has just finished eighth in the two starts of the Monza GP and climbed to the podium for being the best of the rookies at the start of this third division of the International Automobile Federation (FIA ). With eight points Montoya is number 10 in the general classification of 37 drivers. In teams, his team, the Italian Prema, is the undisputed leader, with 72 units.
During the tests and free practices of the competition, the 17-year-old runner did not have much luck because the weather conditions were not the best. However, he managed to finish the days without major setbacks and came to finish in fifth place in his best ‘test’.
“Unfortunately, as has always been seen in Formula 1, the rain is one more component of the Imola circuit. Visibility is very poor, but I feel more and more comfortable with the car. In practice I tried a couple of things that will surely allow me to have a great weekend”Montoya commented after finishing his tests in the 4,909 kilometers of the route of the flat region of Emilia Romagna.
