Sabotage Studio announced via Twitter that Sea of Stars was postponed to the 2023. So it won’t be able to make it out by the end of 2022, as previously announced. The developers took the opportunity to apologize to those who are waiting for the game.
“By keeping in mind our priorities, the quality of life of our team and the quality of the game, we can confirm that Sea of Stars will be launched in 2023.“
“We understand that asking you to wait is a long time and we want to thank the community for the incredible support and positive reactions. In the meantime, we are considering launching a game demo for everyone within the year.“
Sea of Stars is the prequel to The Messenger (review), the previous Sabotage game, even though it belongs to a completely different genre. It is in fact a turn-based role-playing game (The Messenger was a metroidvania).
Of course, always sorry when a video game is postponed. But if the reason is to have a work of higher quality, then the greater expectation is welcome.
