Scientists from the University of Vienna have found that dogs, depending on the circumstances, are able to determine a person’s lie. The results of the study were published in one of the main print media of the Royal Society of London – Proceedings of the Royal Society B…
In the course of the study, specialists conducted three experiments, in which 260 dogs of various breeds took part. Two opaque bowls were placed in front of them, one of which contained a delicacy, and the other remained empty. After that, one of the volunteers, whom the dogs had never seen before, came up and began to tell them which bowl the food was in. The animals chose the indicated container, received an award and after that they began to trust him, writes “Moscow 24”…
After that, in the presence of the subjects, a stranger transferred food from one bowl to another, and the person from the first part of the experiment watched what was happening. After that, the procedure was repeated without his presence.
After that, the scientists repeated the first part of the experiment and found that animals ignore the advice of a person if he was not there when the food was shifted.
The researchers also noted that about half of the dogs did not follow the person’s advice if he saw how the treat was moved, but tried to convince them that it was in another bowl, the channel notes. “Star”… According to scientists, this suggests that dogs are ways to discern human lies.
As noted NSN, a similar experiment was conducted previously with children under the age of five, as well as with chimpanzees and macaques. It turned out that dogs are less susceptible to lying than children and monkeys.
On July 15, the President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev told how to help dogs survive the heat, avoiding heat or sunstroke. In particular, the specialist urged to provide the dog with cold water, and also not to leave food leftovers in the bowl for a long time, otherwise the food may deteriorate, and the animal may be poisoned.
