The Belgian Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday 29 August, will mark the expected return to the track of Formula 1 after the summer break, but not only. On the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in fact, the debut of Mick Schumacher behind the wheel of an F1 car on the track where his father Michael he has written many of the best pages of his career.
It will therefore be a special thrill for the German to compete on the Ardennes racetrack, moreover a few days away from the 30th anniversary of the seven-time world champion’s debut in the top flight, which took place in Belgium at the wheel of the Jordan. The particular link between the name Schumacher and Spa-Francorchamps was highlighted as early as 2017, the year in which the current Haas driver made a few laps behind the wheel of the Benetton B194, single-seater with which the Kaiser won his first world title in 1994.
An experience that Mick remembers today with great emotions: “Driving my father’s car – commented the young German a racingnews365.com – it was a great experience. Michael Schumacher, in addition to having made his debut in the circus in 1991, can also boast a palmarès consisting of six victories in Belgium over ten years, between 1992 and 2002.
