The escalation of the Ukrainian conflict is unacceptable, since it cannot be turned into a war between Russia and NATO. This was announced on November 19 by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his speech at the conference of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
“It is important to ensure that this does not lead to an escalation, to a war between Russia and NATO. Therefore, it is important that we work closely together with our friends and allies in the European Union, NATO, at the level of the G7 and at other levels,” the Chancellor said, his speech was broadcast on Youtube-channel branch of the SPD in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg.
According to Scholz, in the current situation, it is important to help Ukraine defend its integrity and sovereignty by sending military assistance to Kyiv, among other things. He also noted the importance of the fact that Germany is among those who send the bulk of support to Ukraine.
Former U.S. intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on November 17 that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wanted to use the missile incident in Poland to pit NATO and Russia. He explained that Ukraine is concerned about strikes on its infrastructure, as it can be completely de-energized.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said on November 12 that Russia is fighting alone against NATO and the Western world. He noted that Russia has not yet used its entire arsenal of possible means of destruction and has not struck at all possible enemy targets.
On October 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that the West, led by the United States, continues to wage a hybrid war against Russia and, in an effort to destroy the country, is increasing arms supplies to Ukraine.
Earlier, on October 22, Sergei Kiriyenko, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, noted that in the event of any confrontation with NATO, the people of Russia would win. On the same day, he announced that the combined NATO forces were waging war against Russia in order to eliminate the Russian Federation as a sovereign state. He pointed out that the war is being waged not only on the battlefield, but also with Russian culture, traditions, against Russian history.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
