German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that he had reached a consensus with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on refusing to strike Russian territory with Western weapons. His words leads Bild edition.
The journalist asked the politician whether there is an agreement with the Ukrainian leader that Western weapons will be used only on the territory of Ukraine and they will not be used for strikes against Russia. “There is a consensus on this issue,” the Chancellor replied.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Ukraine should not strike at the territory of Russia from weapons supplied by the West. The politician named one of the criteria for the supply of weapons and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine – they should not lead to an escalation of the conflict.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the country is ready to use all types of weapons in the event of Kyiv’s attacks on its territories. According to him, Russia’s response to attacks on its territory will be quick, tough and convincing.
